Mission/Repertory

The Rogue Dancers is a fiscally sponsored non-profit contemporary dance company. Founded in December 2011 as a collaboration between artists who seek to create dance works that challenges notions. We are constantly working to bring creative minds into the fold and reach new audience with our work.

Mission

We use collaboration to combine our creative energies with the goal of making the best work possible. Through collaboration we are constantly challenging our personal notions of dance. As an art-form, we strive to explore movement by finding the balance between avant-garde innovation and technical prowess. We want to also test the notion of dance as a medium for storytelling. As artist our major goal is to affect change in the world around us by creating work with a message. We can present the strong message with a mixture of pop-culture and topical reference with timeless truth in a meaningful story.

Core Values

Using movement as our focal point we strive to invoke an emotional response by developing strong character narratives.
We draw inspiration from personal experiences; identifying ourselves as uniquely American. Rock music, pop culture/

Americana, strong female characters, and the physicality of movement are our strongest motivators in creating out art.
