Music and dance takes centerstage tomorrow when the Kennedy Dancers present the second installment of the Bare Soles Artist Showcase.

A group of emerging Queens choreographers is preparing for the spotlight as they ready their team of local dance artists for their debut performance and launch of a new event space.
Dance companies like the Falcon Dance, Moira Dance Theatre, Thomas/Ortiz Dance and Sheennah Augustin Dance Company will each get 15 minutes to showcase their work.
“My goal with the Queens Dance Workshop was to create an organization that brings a focus to central Queens as a viable place to see up and coming artists, as well as a space that catered to Queens choreographers,” Hotchner has since brought together numerous local directors, dancers, musicians and filmmakers to one place to give Queens artists a space of their own.

The Queens-based Rogue Dancers offer a platform for artistic feedback. The artists are relEASE, Falcon Dance, Moira Dance Theatre, Florence Nasar and Sheennah Augustin Dance Company.

Other dance companies will also be in on the fun. On opening night, July 11, The Rogue Dancers from New York City will perform “Challenge,” a postmodern piece for six dancers to the music of Neon Neon that was choreographed by Kennedy Dancer Zaleski, who co-founded Rogue Dancers.
